Lehigh Valley Offic.

Well homies, it's official. I registered for the Lehigh Valley Half marathon last night. 13.1 miles through my hometown. The race advertises a stadium finish, which is true, but somehow running through my high school football stadium doesn't quite qualify to me as a stadium finish haha.

As I mentioned in my last post, I was only going to register last night if yesterday's run went well. And I guess needless to say, it did. I started with a 5-minute warm up at 12 minute miles and then kicked it up to 11 minute miles for the next five minutes. For the middle 10 minutes, I kept it at 10 minute miles and then ended with 10 minutes back at the 11 minute miles.

Overall it felt good. I was beginning to get a little tired at the end when I had about two or three more minutes left. But I like being able to push the speed a little bit.

Tonight's run is a scheduled easy run. One of my goals is to decrease my easy run time from 12 minute miles to 11 minute miles. I'm pretty sure I can do it. So that's my goal for tonight, 25 easy minutes at 11 minute miles.

In non-running news, my Terps beat UVA last night, which was important because it kept us in the middle of the pack in the ACC as we enter the heart of the season.

  1. Congrats! I am sure you are looking forward to the race. That stadium finish will be awesome :)

Funny, I am kinda doing the same thing. My First Half is in just two weeks and I haven't signed up yet - because I am afraid I will hurt myself between now and then. I have had so much trouble with injury so I just want to be sure.

    Good luck with the race!
