Crofton 10K

Sometimes all it takes to find your motivation is to hear about an awesome upcoming race.

Yesterday, through a comment on a friend's Facebook page, I learned about the Crofton 10K.

Last year I used to ramble on and on about how the Crofton Parkway was exactly 3.1 miles and I was shocked they didn't host a race around the parkway. It'd be the perfect 5K.

Well imagine how excited I was when I heard about this 10K. It starts and ends on the parkway with some turning down side streets to get the entire 6.2 miles.

That race is so happening.

The parkway is so pretty to run around. There's minimal traffic and sidewalks almost all the way around. Plus you run past the golf course and some many super cute little homes. And it's tree-lined, which means lots of shade for a hot summer race.

It's a smaller race. The entry fee is only $20, a steal for races these days, and I know the course. This one pretty much seemed like a no-brainer.

This will be the first race to kick off my summer/fall racing schedule. I'm hoping to have a complete schedule by tomorrow.
