On the Mend, Slowly

by - Wednesday, October 17, 2012

The big success of this morning was that I ate solid food. Sure it may have only been Saltines, but I was actually hungry and wanted to eat, which was a huge improvement over yesterday.

Fingers crossed that they stay down!

Also I'm fairly certain that ginger ale has magical healing powers. Emily stopped by to visit yesterday because she felt bad that I felt like death and she brought me some sick kid supplies, including these adorable mini cans of ginger ale.

Could these mini ginger ale cans be any cuter?

Seriously could these be any cuter?

I'm feeling a little bit better today, but I'm still wiped out. I have no energy. All I want to do is curl up in a ball and sleep. I'm working from home for a little bit this morning to get some things done, but I'm considering taking some sick leave this afternoon to nap and recover.

I want to kick this thing for good so that I can get back to actually tapering for MCM.

  1. I agree that Ginger Ale has healing properties when it comes to settling an upset stomach. When I was preggo, both time, I lived on those little half cans of Ginger Ale (full cans are just too much soda for me, and it's so sugary, it makes my teeth feel coated). There's something too about carbonation that always helps my tummy too, or maybe my brian just believes there's something nice about fizzy drinks when I don't feel good; either way, it's soothing.

Glad to hear you're on the mend. Continue to feel better!

  2. I don't like to hear about all these stomach issues going around. I hate the stomach flu, and I especially am scared of it now that I have a newborn at home! Feel better!
