My Foot Isn't Broken and Fun Softball Jersey

by - Tuesday, July 09, 2013

So I think I casually slipped it into a previous post that I had slipped and fallen in the rain and hurt my foot a few weeks ago. (Turns out flip flops + rain are a bad combo).

The next two days after the fall were unbearably painful, and I spent the better part of last week on crutches. As a side note, crutches are the absolute worst, especially in humid, humid summer months. I swear last week I had pretty much sweat through my shirt by the time I made it across the street to my car. At least I was getting a workout?

I had a doctor's appointment for Wednesday to make sure it wasn't more than a bad sprain or something. The doctor checked it out, confirmed that I could move my ankle and all my toes and then sent me for X-rays.

I was sweating bullets waiting to get the results. It was just a little more than six months ago that I was in an air cast for six weeks because of a stress fracture. I didn't want to be repeating that whole nightmare.

That friends is my very not broken foot!!!! So relieved. It's just a bone bruise.
Not broken!

When the doctor pulled up the X-rays maybe 10 minutes later and there was no break, I did a bit of a celebratory dance in the room.

The doc said it was most likely a bone bruise or a strained muscle or ligament in my foot. Either way, the prescription was the same. Rest. Ice. More rest. No high impact activity.

It's been more than a week now, and the swelling has most definitely gone down. I can fit my foot in a sneaker, but I'm still not walking normally. It's annoying and painful (though not nearly as bad as before), and I miss working out, though as my mom pointed out, at least I'm missing miserable running weather and not cool crisp fall days.

And in fun news, my softball team hooked me up with the most awesome jersey ever yesterday. Check out the number they surprised me with:

Best jersey number ever.

  2. Glad to hear you did not break any bones, but be careful because if it is a sprain, sometimes they are worse than a break.

In my view, when almost all online marketers in addition to writers made perfect written content since you most likely do, the world wide web shall be a great deal more handy than previously.
