First Runs After my Softball Injuries

by - Wednesday, May 27, 2015

First off, I want to say a major thank you to everyone who reached out to me and offered to help out with my MBA project research or passed the information on to friends who might want to help. You guys are seriously the best.

I think I'm going to end up with a really well-rounded body of research, which is what I was hoping for. So thank you, thank you!

In other running news, things have been slow-going on this front since my softball injuries. I was able to do my first run in two weeks last Friday. It was a three miler and I have no idea how fast or slow it was since I didn't wear my watch.

This morning I went out for another planned three miler, but we're getting a pretty heavy dose of DC humidity this morning, so I opted to cut out the extra loop and probably did about 2.5ish. (Again not totally sure, left Garmin at home so I wouldn't see how slow I was going).

None of this bodes particularly well for the Baltimore 10 Miler that I'm supposed to run on June 6. My hope/goal/tentative plan is to try to do something long-ish this weekend and see how things go. I have no intentions of dropping out of the B-10. It's a really fun race.

My time will be slow, and the last few miles will probably be less than pleasant, but I ran a half at the beginning of May, so I'm hoping some of that training will carry me through on race morning.

I guess we'll see what happens!

  1. It is just so hard to run in humidity! The heat came here in NY (off and on) a few weeks ago, but the humidity has been thick the past few days.
