It was just OK but since I love the backstory so much, I would definitely be interested in trying The Mystery of Mrs. Christie.

I just finished The Nothing Man by the same author as 56 Days and it was great. I didn't have to worry about the crowds because there was a separate event for walkers later in the day. The views from the crest are truly astounding. Oh, I thought the upslope was much steeper than it was so I had been "training" by running up and down Massachusetts Avenue.

Warren Zeyevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10859333198535812619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25824302.post-15832112523603540402021-10-22T19:31:46.086-04:002021-10-22T19:31:46.086-04:00Sheep on the beach! I think more and more things keep appearing that back that up, or at least that is what I have been reading.
I think I tend to be happy with about one rest day and 50-55 miles in the winter and 60 or so in the summer.
And whether or not that is optimal for me being a ‘better runner’, really doesn’t matter. It works great with my time and love of getting out there, and I feel great. I’m sure a coach would knock me upside the head and totally change things up on me, but I really don’t care. There are so many bloggers out there and it's hard to keep track of everyone! Thanks for this list and for including me! Behind Closed Doors is my pick for most satisfying ending ever. I read the Secret Keeper a long time ago and honestly I felt like the story was too close to her book The Lake House, except that The Lake House was better. The typical injection site reaction gradually became more painful and the shoulder finally froze. It seems that the needle reached the bursa and caused an inflammation that grew worse, not better with time.
The medical treatment was light anesthesia, physical manipulation of the shoulder (by a strong doctor), followed by some pain meds and stretching exercise. Way faster than 'letting it resolve' and a good outcome.
Just thought this might add a useful option for you to consider.
Wishing you a wildly wonderful holiday and a quick recovery in the new year.
10kat22435https://www.blogger.com/profile/14422825129329979557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25824302.post-40355755746460097742020-10-29T17:36:59.028-04:002020-10-29T17:36:59.028-04:00Congrats on your race! But they didn't show me among the finishers. The problem? Strava reported 3.1 miles and they were set up for distances in kilometers only. Our club's coordinator got them to look at the results again and they finally found the problem and fixed it. I hope MCM figures out that 26.2 and 42.2 are about the same thing and that either will work. I did not enjoy having to keep the distance relatively short because I didn't get a rest day after that, it felt strange. Ultimately I decided I would rather do 5 miles 3 days a week over 2 miles 7 days a week, but would totally consider streaking again. Back to PT and all those other approaches you know about.

I posted a run on Strava and Garmin that was on one of our hot days. I had slowed down my already slow pace and stopped for water. I was coming up to Fletcher's Cove and was going to get water there as well. Then my calf yelled at me that I was going to stop. Period. I had to walk a bit over a mile up the hill to get back home. Massage and time have helped and I have since been able to run a bit over 3 miles. My next race isn't until late August in Ottawa so I'm hoping my body will continue to cooperate.

Be well.
