Quick Catch-Up: I'm an Aunt, Running and Engagement Pictures

Welp it's been over a month since I've last had the time to sit down and write a blog post. So much for keeping up with my resolution to blog once a week. Womp. Womp.

Going back to work after the shutdown really zapped my desire of spending extra time on the computer after hours.

So what's been happening since I last checked in?

Well I've been out of town four of the last five weekends -- annual ski trip to Snowshoe, home to PA for my mom's birthday, back to PA again for wedding things, and back to PA one more time to meet my niece.

Why yes, I did just become an auntie 10 days ago! I cried when my brother called me from the delivery room, and I could hear her little baby cries in the background. She arrived 12 days early and is the most perfect little peanut. I love her more than I even know was possible. My camera roll on my phone is officially overflowing with baby pictures.

She's the cutest baby in the world. No one will convince me otherwise.

I've also been training for a race kind of on the sly. I'll blog more about it at some point, but if you've been following my Instagram, you've probably seen the pictures of my Garmin with my long run mileage slowly inching up. I haven't talked much about it because of my hip worries, but training has been going Ok. I promise I'll share more soon.

Wedding planning continues to be a soul-sucking, stressful misery. I'm counting down the days til June 16 when I will never have to deal with this again. I must be missing the gene some people get that makes them truly enjoy this process. I wish I had it, but I just find every decision I have to make stressful and annoying and probably destined to upset someone. So I'm very excited that there's only three more months until I'm free of it.

To be super clear, I am over-the-moon excited to be getting married to the person I am marrying. I am zero percent excited about the nonsense that comes with planning a wedding.

To not end on such a sour note and to prove that I really am excited about the marriage part of the wedding, here are a couple of my favorite engagement pictures. We had them taken one of the weekends we were home in PA this winter, and I just love how they came out.
