Dreadmill 10 miler

Last week I knew I would need to do my weekend long run on Monday because on Saturday and Sunday I would either still be moving the BF or I'd be recovering from getting him all moved.

I had 10 miles on the schedule, but when my alarm went off at 5:30 yesterday, I turned it off, rolled back over and went to sleep for 3 more hours.

By the time I woke up it was in the mid-80's, sunny, with like 80% humidity. Blech.

So I headed to the fitness center near my townhouse and cranked out 10 miles on the treadmill. Because I was the only one there when I started I got to pick the channel for the TV. Boo-yah TLC! Saw the end of Jon and Kate plus 8 (p.s. the "other Kate" went to my high school) and caught an episode and a half of What Not to Wear, my total guilty pleasure.

I should point out that while I was cranking out my miles, three guys all came into the gym and were stuck watching TLC too. Hehe too bad for them. But they all came and went before I even finished, so I figured they could deal for like half an hour.

Besides the fact that I did the run on the treadmill, I felt good. I took a Gu around miles 6 because I really needed it. Does anyone else feel weird taking Gu on the treadmill? I don't know why but I always do. I didn't have too many problems with my legs acting up and most run soreness was fairly minimal.

I celebrated the run by heading to the Eastern Shore with the BF, his dad and sister for some Maryland crabs. Mmmm delicious. Felt like I had a food baby after. But obviously I had to replace all those calories I burned running. :o)

Tonight's my last night teaching yoga. WAhhhooo. However, currently I feel like crap. Headache, stomachache etc. I'm trying to get a doc. appointment for this afternoon so I may be putting my yoga class up for a sub. We shall see.

I'm back in October -- please let's grab food and hang out. It's crazy how we connected much more online than in 4 years at UMD haha.

  4. Wow, 10 miles on the treadmill is quite an accomplishment! And Jon and Kate is still being aired? Shouldn't they rename it to "Kate Minus Jon Plus Eight"?
