So my cruise to the Caribbean is in jeopardy right now because of stupid Mother Nature.

She wants to drop another 10+ inches of snow on the D.C.-are this weekend, which I can pretty much promise will ground all planes.

Without a plane, there's no easy way for me to get to Florida to get on the boat!

GAHH! I am in the middle of a major meltdown.

Here are my options:
1. Try to find an earlier flight to Florida. I think that's what everyone else is doing because they're all booked.
2. Drive to Florida. Yea it's 14 hours.

I just wanted to be able to go on vacation stress free, but apparently that's not going to be the case so now I'm off to look into rental car costs. Lucky me.

I'm just glad I'm working from home today so no one can witness this meltdown.

You may remember back in December when I mentioned redesigning the blog was one of my goals for 2010.

Well after lots of research since then and plenty of experimentation and testing the last several days, I'm happy to introduce the new look here at Run Girl Run.

I hope you'll all hop out of Google Reader for a minute and take a look around.

You'll notice a few new things.

First, I've created a page to aggregate all of my cooking challenge recipes. I'll still be posting the recipes here, but they will all also be listed on the Cooking Challenge page. That way it's easier for you to go back and find a recipe if you're looking for one.

I did the same thing for my race reports. If you're thinking about running a race I did, all the recaps are on the Race Recaps page so they're easy to find.

Second, I'm in the process of updating my Blog Roll. I've started reading plenty of new blogs since it's last been updated, so I'm trying to get all of those people included.

Plus lurkers, I can't read your blogs if you don't leave a comment every once in a while. If you're reading my blog, I want to read yours too. So leave me a comment and let me know who you are so I can stop by!

Morning bloggies!

I for one am very sad that it's Monday and the weekend is over. Don't they always fly by way too fast?

This weekend D.C. got hit with a bit of a snowstorm. The weathermen were all saying we were only supposed to get a dusting to an inch. Surprise, surprise, we got about six.

After being cooped up inside all day on Saturday, the BF and I were more than a little stir crazy come dinnertime. We decided to venture out to get some delicious Panera soup for dinner. We bundled up and walked the half mile or so to Panera. Despite my boots I was still sliding all over the place. (I should have taken pictures so you could see just how bundled I was.)

But the baked potato soup was so worth it. I highly recommend it if you're in the mood for some warm comfort food.

The bread bowl is a must!

After dinner we walked over to Border's, scored some sweet $2 books in the sale boxes and then go some coffee and tea. Coffee for the BF, tea for me.

And on the way home, we stopped at Cake Love for some delicious cupcakes.


So despite the fact that it was freezing cold and slippery outside, good food somehow managed to make it all better and getting out of the house was so worth it.
