Craigslist, Facebook, Twitter and why I've been MIA

I don't write too much about work on this blog because it's a running blog and I figure you guys would all rather read about that than about work. But I've been pretty wrapped up in work stuff lately and I want to tell you about the cool people I got to hear from at the conference the past two days.

Plus I have nothing really to say about working out other than yoga went OK tonight even though I couldn't do some of the poses because of my bruised knee. So I'm going to tell you a little bit about the awesome conference I was at the last two days.

For those of you who don't know, my job is basically all about social media. I develop and then implement social media plans for my organization using Facebook and Twitter mostly and I'm researching breaking in to YouTube and other platforms.

So at this conference I learned all kinds of things about best practices and how the social Web is changing the way people interact. The best part about it was I got to hear it from really cool people, like Craig Newmark, the founder of craigslist, Jeff Jarvis, the guy who wrote What Would Google Do, Vivek Kundra, the White House CIO and Macon Phillips, the White House head of new media.

It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot and met a ton of cool industry leaders.

So that's what I've been up to the past two days and the reason I haven't posted much of substance or commented on your blogs. I promise to get back to normal posting as soon as I catch up on what I missed at the office while I was at conference!
