BlogHer Day One Recap

Good morning and welcome to anyone who is new to Run Girl Run today. If you're stopping by because you met me at BlogHer, I'm thrilled you're here. Take a minute to check out the About section and poke through the popular posts and the archives to learn more about me and my blog.

I'm now back home from my absolutely amazing time in New York City and I'm really sad it's over.

I learned so much this weekend and met so many wonderful bloggers.

I'm going

I have a list a mile long of things to follow up on.

The first day was the BlogHer Business portion of the conference, which I loved. It was a smaller affair with only about 200 people getting together to discuss what's worked for their companies, what can be improved and what's next.

The most interesting session was a study the founders of BlogHer presented on women's use of social media.

Fun stat: 55.6 million women read blogs at least once a month and often a lot more.

After the learning portion of the day wrapped, I headed over to the Martha Stewart party that I somehow managed to score an invite to. It was held at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia headquarters, which has a gorgeous view over the Hudson River.

It was no surprise the offices were decorated beautifully and delicious foods and drinks were being passed around. It was a Martha Stewart party after all.

It was a great chance to talk with some of the Martha Stewart Living staff and mix and mingle with other bloggers.

Martha even made a brief appearance and spoke about the importance of blogging.

It was a great party, and afterward, I headed back to the hotel to get some sleep for the BlogHer 5K bright and early the next morning. More on that later.
